Atlanta has taught workshops "health" promote nutrition and physical education

When Atlanta schools have opened in late August, a new project was launched. The original workshop "health" was co-chaired by Dr. Marilyn Hughes, director of nutrition administration for Atlanta Schools, and Billette Owens-Ashford, director of the Atlanta school of education fitness and athletics.The purpose of the proposed workshop "health" is improving the health of students by identifying problems related to health. It has been shown that health issues can frequently make a direct affect on the success of a school student.

The inaugural workshop of "health" for schools in Atlanta had a variety of speakers and displays that provided resources on activities based food and physical education activities. The keynote speaker was Dr. Yvonne Butler. Dr. Butler is an author whose remarkable book, "children healthy, intelligent children," discusses the impact of di


ot; discusses the impact of diet and exercise on the implementation of study and academic. Other speakers have included Olympic gold medalist in track and field Gail divides who spoke about the importance of exercise to health and how to stay physically adapted.

Atlanta heard the shop "health" is part of a broad program that aims to provide strategies fitness and nutrition for students and staff in all schools in Atlanta.Innovative strategies to be used include yoga classes for teachers and students, vegetarian cafeteria lines, and walking trails. The overall plan was developed by the Atlanta school of education. The Board of Education will offer guidelines on how to implement the program and how schools will be evaluated.

Part of the plan sets health advisories. These councils will be composed of teachers, parents, administrators, students, and community and associates. The council will assist Atlanta Schools in integrating nutrition and physical education into the curriculum current. The board of health will also have a presence at events in all schools in Atlanta.

Recently, the health of Atlanta schools received a surge in participation of a parent schools in Atlanta. Linton Hopkins has two children attending primary school in rivers of E.Hopkins is concerned about the nutritional value of cafeteria offerings at school primary rivers of E. but unlike other parents, Hopkins is the chief executive of Restaurant Eugene in Atlanta and winner of the competition this year of "head of iron" in Atlanta.
